Organization: OXFAM INDIA Job Title: DIRECTOR - OPERATIONS Reports to: CEO Location: DELHI __________________________________________________ _______________________________ Introduction: Oxfam International: Oxfam International was founded in 1995 and today it is a confederation of 17 individual affiliates working together under the Oxfam International umbrella with over 3000 partners in over a 100 countries with the aim of finding lasting solutions to poverty and injustice. The organization’s mission is a just world without poverty and its goal is to enable people to exercise their rights and manage their own lives. Historically for the past 64 years, six different Oxfams have been working through country offices in different parts of India. These were Oxfam Trust, Oxfam GB (Great Britain), Oxfam Novib (Netherlands), Oxfam Australia, Oxfam Hong Kong and Intermon Oxfam (Spain). Oxfam India is a result of a merger of all these, who were operating as independent entities, till 1st September, 2008. www.oxfam.org or www.twitter.com/oxfam Oxfam India: First Strategy 2010 – 2015 Oxfam India is now an independent affiliate of the Oxfam Confederation and has been working on national programming, international and national advocacy and campaigning, humanitarian response and fundraising, with a rights based approach. The organization has regional programme offices spread over each focus states, such as Bihar, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, with Fundraising offices in Delhi, Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad. The National office is located in New Delhi. Our current staff strength across all offices stands at 175.
